In-Home Care in Pasadena: Your Questions Answered

Choosing in-home care in Pasadena usually starts with a handful of practical questions: what help is available, what it costs, and how quickly someone can come. Here are the ones families ask us most, answered plainly. If yours isn't here, call (626) 678-8826 and we'll talk it through.

What happens before care begins

Every family starts with a free assessment. A staff member visits the home to understand what your loved one and your family need. Cost depends on the hours of care, how often visits happen and the services you choose, so your written quote comes after that visit.

No one can promise a same-day start. Ask for the earliest date that has been assessed and staffed, and we'll tell you honestly. When you're ready, start with a free consultation.

What in-home care does and doesn't cover

Our care is non-medical. It helps with the daily routines that get harder at home:

  • Personal careWalking and wheelchair assistance, transferring, bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting and help with meals. See personal care.
  • Companion careLight housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, grocery shopping, companionship, reading aloud, walks and outings.
  • Health-related supportMedication reminders, managing appointments, and going along to medical visits.

We don't offer diagnosis, injections, wound treatment or independent medication administration. If needs go beyond non-medical care, a clinical provider is the right next step. We also support families with dementia care and respite care.

Who comes into your home

Letting someone into your home is a big decision. Our caregivers go through background and reference checks, and they are bonded and insured. Our agency holds California home care organization license 194700002.

If the match isn't right, one phone call is enough to switch to a different caregiver. Care managers can be reached 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Read more about how we select caregivers.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does in-home care in Pasadena include?+

Help with everyday routines as agreed in your care plan: bathing, dressing, mobility, meals, light housekeeping, laundry, errands, companionship and medication reminders. The plan is built around your household during the free assessment. See personal care for details.

Is in-home care the same as nursing?+

No. It is non-medical home care. Caregivers help with daily living but do not diagnose, give injections, treat wounds or administer medication on their own. If needs go beyond that, a healthcare provider should be involved.

How much does in-home care cost?+

We don't publish hourly rates. After the free consultation you receive a quote based on the care you need and the hours you use. Billing is generally hourly, after service, usually weekly. Two spouses sharing one caregiver get a discounted rate. See cost.

How can we pay, and does insurance help?+

Payment options and insurance are explained on our paying for care page. Veterans can also read about VA-related home care. Ask us before you start so you know what applies to your situation.

How soon can care start?+

It depends on the assessment and caregiver availability. Ask for the earliest assessed and staffed start date. We don't promise same-day starts. Call (626) 678-8826 to find out what's possible for your family.

What happens at the free assessment?+

A staff member visits the home to learn what care your loved one and family need. From that visit we shape the care plan and your written quote, and we match a caregiver. Book a consultation to set it up.

Which cities do your caregivers serve?+

Pasadena, West Covina and Covina and nearby San Gabriel Valley communities, plus Los Angeles, Glendale, Azusa, Rancho Cucamonga and San Bernardino. See service areas for Glendale, Arcadia and Los Angeles.

Can we change caregivers if it isn't a good fit?+

Yes. If you're not satisfied, one phone call is all it takes to switch to a different caregiver. Talk to your care manager about a replacement and any coverage in the meantime.

Do you offer care in Korean or other languages?+

We support English, Korean, Spanish, Japanese and Chinese. Tell us your language preference when you call, and we'll explain what we can arrange for your household.
